Various developments require specific environmental modelling as part of the development assessment or compliance phase. The GeoLINK team has capabilities to utilise these tools effectively to achieve positive outcomes for your development and tailor management measures that are appropriate for your site.

MELDI Modelling

The MEDLI model is a tool used to model how treated effluent interacts with soil and crops over time. This tool is the preferred tool for modelling wastewater impacts from onsite wastewater treatment systems, feedlots, saleyards, wineries, food processing plants, and other industrial and agribusiness. The outputs of this model will provide the following:

– How much wastewater storage capacity you require (i.e. wet weather storage)

– The quantity of irrigation area that you will require for your development

– How frequently you can irrigate wastewater and at what rate

We use these results to design a compliant, efficient and cost-effective wastewater management solution tailored to your site and operations. 

MUSIC Modelling​

The MUSIC model is used to determine rainfall and pollution generation in urban environments. This software simulates water sensitive design, which makes design and assessment of Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) in urban developments an easier process. Many developments are required to complete MUSIC modelling as part of their design and development assessment process, these include residential and industrial subdivisions, residential and industrial developments. The output of this model includes:

– Determination of how rainfall and evapotranspiration translate into surface runoff for your site;

– Calculation of the concentration and load of key pollutants (nitrogen, phosphorus, suspended solids, etc);

– Determination of which WSUD structures are most effective and efficient for your site (e.g. bioretention systems, constructed wetlands, rainwater tanks, etc.).
